Torquing Bolts on Shell Kits

Torquing Bolts on Shell Kits

Torquing your bolts to the correct newton-meters is essential to the operation of the Roller and Shell Kit. Under torquing can be dangerous and cause damage to your machine.

Under torquing can lead to the following:

  • Bolts snapping
  • Padfoot Shells falling off
  • Damaging machine or shell segments

Preventative Maintenance Tips

As the Padfoot shells settle on the machine the tension of the bolts reduces, causing them to come loose. Following the procedure below will ensure your padfoot shells have a snug fit to the smooth drum of your roller. Every Roller Parts shell kit leaves our yard with the tag below stating the hours and tensions all bolts need to be torqued.
